Georgia Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Sherry Lang said Saturday investigators found the evidence near the road where the suspect, Robert Kane Rollison, lives in Hawkinsville. She would not describe the evidence, but said authorities believe it is "relevant to the investigation."
A special agent in the investigation told CBS Atlanta that after following several leads, they have not recovered the body. He did not say what led authorities to charge the 17-year-old Rollison with murder, without a body. "It is unusual to do that, but not unheard of," he said.
The 19-year-old college freshman was last seen on the Cochran campus April 25.
Police say the teen suspect arrested Thursday has been charged as an adult with Keyes' murder.
The suspect reportedly had dual enrollment at a high school and at the college.
