"While the stateside 'Jersey Shore' locales have become iconic for our audience, it's really the constantly evolving dynamic amongst the cast that keeps them coming back each season and Europe is a fresh spin on a show that continues to reach new heights for us," Chris Linn, executive vice president of programming for MTV, said in a statement obtained by Entertainment Weekly. "The cast is headed to the birthplace of the culture they love and live by. We can't wait to see what erupts as a result."

TMZ.com reported, citing sources close to the show, that "Jersey Shore" producers will be scouting locations in Italy to find the right place to shoot, and that they've already lined up some of Vinny Guadagnino's Italian relatives to host the cast for an authentic dinner.

Execs for "Jersey Shore" reportedly began working on securing visas for the cast and crew two months ago.
