Jerry Sandusky Trial: Opening arguments in Penn State sex abuse case begin today

(CBS/AP) BELLEFONTE, Pa. - Opening statements begin inside a Pennsylvania courthouse today in the child sex abuse trial of former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky. A jury of seven women and five men get their first glimpse of the case that is expected to last at least several weeks.

Several other investigations are under way while the trial is proceeding. A state grand jury, federal prosecutors and Penn State's own investigators and civil litigators are trying to shed light on what occurred.

Sandusky, 68, faces 52 criminal counts that he sexually abused 10 boys over 15 years, including charges that he attacked children inside Penn State football team showers and at his own home in State College. Sandusky has consistently denied the charges.
