Jeremy Renner welcomes daughter Ava Berlin

Jeremy Renner is taking on a new role: fatherhood.

The Oscar-nominated star of films like "The Hurt Locker" and "The Avengers" is now dad to a baby girl.

"Jeremy Renner and girlfriend Sonni Pacheco have confirmed that they are the parents of a 7 lb. daughter Ava Berlin Renner," Renner's rep said, according to Us Weekly. "They are beyond thrilled. Mother and daughter are doing great."

No other details were announced about the baby girl.

Reports that the actor was to become a father surfaced in January following the Golden Globes, People reports, but Renner, 42, had not addressed them until now.

The actor is currently working on director David O. Russell's latest film and was recently seen on screen in "Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters" and "The Bourne Legacy."
