Jeremy Clarkson on future at BBC: "I haven't heard a thing"
Word on the street is that BBC host Jeremy Clarkson may find out his fate this week.
A report out of The Daily Telegraph says Clarkson is getting the ax after an internal investigation concluded he had attacked a producer on his hit show, "Top Gear."
The popular host was pulled from the TV series for allegedly punching a producer and calling him nasty names for failing to provide a hot steak dinner after a day of filming.
Clarkson, for one, tweeted Wednesday that he hasn't heard anything yet about his future:
The BBC, meanwhile, said no final decision had been made. "When we have an outcome, we will announce it," said a BBC spokesman.
An estimated a $1.5 billion franchise, "Top Gear" is viewed by 350 million viewers in 170 countries every week, including BBC America.
CBS News' Steve Kroft profiled Clarkson, 54, and the show in a "60 Minutes" piece in 2010.
Over the weekend, the suspended host tweeted, "Many many thanks to all of the people who have called for my reinstatement. I'm very touched. We shall all learn next week what will happen."
