Chicago public schools employee found shot to death
CHICAGO — Chicago’s sole gun homicide this past weekend was the death of a public school employee, just blocks from the school where he worked, reports CBS Chicago.
Jason Goodfriend was found slumped over in a car with a gunshot wound to the head around 10 a.m. Saturday, police said. He was parked not far from Chicago Tech Academy, where he worked as the director of finance and operations.
His death was ruled a homicide.
Goodfriend’s friend Ryan Cassell told CBS Chicago his loved ones are searching for answers in the case.
“We don’t know much, and what we do know is that he lost his life to gun violence,” Cassell says. “He wasn’t the type to go looking for trouble.”
No arrests have been made in the case.
