(CBS) Jane Lynch stepped out of Sue Sylvester's track suit and put down her megaphone to host Sunday night's Emmy Awards.

The "Glee" actress kicked off the show with musical number alongside Jon Hamm, Jim Parsons and Jeremy Piven. She also did a sketch with the "Jersey Shore" cast as a New Jersey TV mogul, dusting herself with Cheeto dust and telling Snooki, "You're my chosen one."

She also made fun of her own show, singing that "[TV is] a world where high school students look roughly 24," and assuring Leonard Nemoy (as the President of Television) that she'd be lip syncing through the opening number.

Here are some of her best lines:

-"There's Betty White, she's the reason we start the show at 5 p.m."

-After "Modern Family" swept the ceremony's first four categories: "Welcome to the 'Modern Family' Awards!"

-On her "gay agenda": "Call Rachel Maddow, and find out what time spinning is; [and] take the pick-up in for an oil change."

-"Oh, poor little Ricky Gervais, someone didn't get enough hugs from Mommy and somehow it's Hollywood's fault"

-"There are so many movie stars doing TV now that TV stars have been forced into providing voices for video games. And those very same video games are then turned into movies starring the very same people who put the TV stars out of work in the first place. Hakuna Matata, my friends, circle of life?"

-"A lot of people are very curious why I'm a lesbian ... Ladies and gentleman, the cast of 'Entourage'"
