Jamie Foxx getting this year's MTV Generation Award

Who needs to win an award for the best kiss, fight, or "WTF moment," when you can win the highest award the MTV Movie Awards bestows? Certainly not Jamie Foxx, who will receive said honor in the form of MTV's Generation Award at Sunday's ceremony.

"As a comedian, Academy Award-winning actor and Grammy award-winning artist, Jamie Foxx is a triple threat superstar unlike any we've seen in a long time," said MTV President Stephen Friedman in a statement on Thursday. "Jamie has captivated audiences for nearly two decades with a dizzying array of memorable performances, and we couldn't be more excited to celebrate him at this year's Movie Awards."

The Generation Award is the night's highest honor, given to a performer who can be "counted on to engage the MTV audience with everything" they do. Previous recipients include Reese Witherspoon, Sandra Bullock, Mike Myers, Jim Carrey, Johnny Depp, Tom Cruise, and Adam Sandler.

Will Ferrell will also be receiving the inaugural Comedic Genius Award, and Emma Watson is being given the MTV Trailblazer Award.

So our guess is that Foxx may not care as much if he doesn't win the other awards he's up for that evening, including "Best Male Performance," "Best Fight," "Best Kiss," and "Best WTF Moment," for his title role in Quentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained." But who knows -- everyone likes to be told they're a good kisser, and who wouldn't want to win an award to prove it?

The MTV Movie Awards will air live Sunday beginning at 9 p.m. ET.
