(CBS) - After entrepreneur Ivanka Trump gave birth to a baby girl on Sunday in New York City, she wasted no time telling friends and followers about her daughter on Twitter.

The new mom tweeted, "This morning @jaredkushner and I welcomed a beautiful and healthy little baby girl into the world. We feel incredibly grateful & blessed. Thank you all for your support and well wishes!"

This is "The Apprentice" judge and hubby Jared Kushner's first child, and real estate mogul Donald Trump's third grandchild. (Donald Trump, Jr. already has two kids.)

Four days before going into labor, Ivanka told Twitter friends and followers she was working on the day of her due date. "Heading to work (on my due date!) Instinct tells me that this little girl is not planning on making her debut today. We'll see!" she said.

The couple has yet to reveal the name of their daughter.

Ivanka is not the only celebrity to announce the birth of her baby on Twitter lately. Eight days ago, Muse frontman Matt Bellamy told Twitter friends about his new, little bundle of joy (with actress Kate Hudson). "So happy! Just had a baby boy, Bingham 'Bing' Hawn Bellamy," Bellamy tweeted. "Mum and baby are strong and healthy. Mum was a warrior, Bing popped out after 4.5 hours of intense pushing!"

Would you use a social network to tell your friends about your new baby?
