It's All Over

Petraeus and Crocker have finished up, ending Day 1 of their two day appearance before House and Senate committees. Things will start up again tomorrow morning as the two men sit down before the Senate Armed Services and Foreign Relations panels.

Petraeus and Crocker made a quick appearance before the cameras before heading over to Fox for an hour long interview. Petraeus ducked a question on how he feels about the MoveOn.org ad in The New York Times (the group called him "General Betray Us"), and he noted that there will be further troop withdrawals after July 2008, but he would say how many or how fast. But it is worth pointing out that they may come in time for the 2008 elections! Here in The Crypt, everything is political.

A couple of quick stats: Petraeus and Crocker faced questions from 35 different lawmakers, and they testified for just over  six hours and 12 minutes.
