Schiffer's husband, British film producer Matthew Vaughn, was by her side as she underwent the procedure.
"Both parents are utterly thrilled at the birth of their first child and both mother and baby are doing very well," a spokeswoman for Schiffer said on condition of anonymity.
The spokeswoman said the couple had not yet decided on a name for the baby, who weighed in at 7 lbs.
She said Schiffer, 32, had hoped for a natural birth, but doctors told her to have the operation because she'd been using crutches since crushing her foot in an accident in November.
The model was admitted to the exclusive Portland Hospital in central London Thursday morning to prepare for the delivery.
The Portland is a favorite with celebrity mothers-to-be. Both former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham and actress Elizabeth Hurley gave birth there by Caesarean last year.
Schiffer married Vaughn, 31, the producer of movies including "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" and "Snatch," in a private church ceremony near her eastern England country home in May 2002.
Guests included retired tennis star Boris Becker, designer Valentino - who created Schiffer's silk wedding dress - and "Snatch" director Guy Ritchie, Madonna's husband.
