Inventor of The Club Dies in Pa. Car Crash
The inventor of The Club, James Winner, has died in a head-on collision in western Pennsylvania.
Police say the Tuesday crash near Clarion also took the lives of two people in a car involved in the accident with Winner's sport utility vehicle.
Winner invented the popular anti car-theft device and his company Winner International sold more than 10 million of them. He also was known in the region for his philanthropy and investment in the community.
In a statement Wednesday, company officials said this was a difficult time and asked for privacy.
Winner, of Hollywood, Fla., was 81.
