Intuit Rolling Out Quicken 99
Another new version of Quicken's coming along. The best selling program for tracking personal finances, Intuit's Quicken, is launching the Quicken 99 line. What's new? Intuit's Steve Grey....
"With Quicken 99 we let people see a summary of all their finances on one screen with a new home page inside Quicken and that helps point out opportunities where they might save more money or make money. And with the recent stock market gyrations that's pretty important for people to understand how they're doing and how they might do better with their finances. Also, we found several new ways to help people save time keeping track of their money."
Some of those ways include a pop up desktop application to let you make quick entries of checks or cash expenses and a way to let you make entries from anywhere through a password protected web site. Intuit says there are 10 and a half million users of Quicken in the United States alone. The question for many is, is it worthwhile to upgrade?
"A lot of our customers do buy new versions. Sometimes every year, sometimes every couple of years. The financial world changes a lot from year to year. You can look at the stock market just in the last few weeks and see that."
The deluxe version of Quicken 99 sells for under sixty dollars. If you are upgrading, there's a twenty dollar rebate. There's still a basic version that sells for under twenty five.
