The Iraqi militant group the Islamic Army in Iraq (IAI) released a 51:04 minute compilation video entitled "The Five Hard Years" to mark the fifth anniversary of the U.S. invasion of Iraq. The tape includes a mix of recycled and new vidoes showing a wide range of attacks, including shootings, rocket launches, IED attacks and thermal bomb attacks. The IAI said the video aims to convey a true image of the dangers facing U.S. forces in Iraq . The group also seem to have used this video to differentiate itself from al Qaeda and portray itself as a patriotic and legitimate resistance group by highlighting its "general policies" throughout it.
