"Insidious: Chapter 2" stars get "physical" in horror sequel

Patrick Wilsonplays a father who just can't catch a break in "Insidious: Chapter 2."

The sequel reunites the cast and crew from the first film, released in 2011 and directed by "Saw" filmmaker James Wan, now working on "Fast & Furious 7."

Wilson and Wan also recently worked together on another haunted house scarefest, "The Conjuring,"which became a big hit with audiences this summer. Now, they're hoping to recapture that same success with this latest horror sequel.

"Insidious: Chapter 2" picks up right where the last one left off, as the Lamberts struggle to escape the evil spirits surrounding their family.

"The first film was about trying to keep the family together and what things were pulling us apart," Wilson said in a recent interview with CBSNews.com. "In this, it's very clear what's pulling us apart."

"It's so much more physical," co-star Rose Byrne added. "It's like an action film in the second half. I'm just hitting him. He's trying to strangle me. He's trying to kill me. He's trying to kill our children. Not to give anything away."

We also asked the stars to name off their personal favorite scary movies. Byrne picked "The Shining." Wilson, meanwhile, choose "Poltergeist" -- besides "Insidious" and "The Conjuring," of course.

Watch video above to see Wilson, Byrne, screenwriter/co-star Leigh Whannell and actress Lin Shaye discuss "Insidious: Chapter 2," now playing in theaters.
