Inmate hid cellphone in prosthetic leg, say Pa. cops

Prosthetic legs such as these do not immediately appear to be a likely hiding place for a cellphone, but that's allegedly what a Fayette County, Pa. jail inmate used his prosthesis for Afurse

(CBS/AP) UNIONTOWN, Pa. - Police say a man jailed in southwestern Pennsylvania illegally hid a cellphone and charger in his prosthetic leg.

Isn't it great what modern medicine can do for you these days?

Twenty-seven-year-old Christopher Greer, of Uniontown, faces a preliminary hearing May 22 on a contraband charge filed last week by a Fayette County detective.

The detective says the phone was found during a search of Greer's cell on Feb. 23.

Greer was sentenced to jail for six months after he was convicted in March of driving with a suspended license. Inmates are not allowed to bring their own phones into the jail - and apparently, that includes smuggling it in a prosthetic limb.
