Injured Sixers Sign Overton

The Philadelphia 76ers have signed guard Doug Overton to a 10-day contract to help replace their injured backcourt, team officials said Saturday.

Overton played 14 games this season averaging 5.9 points per game with the Orlando Magic and the New Jersey Nets. He was played with the 76ers for the 1996-97 and 1997-98 seasons.

The 76ers' backcourt is crippled with injuries Eric Snow, and Allen Iverson. Snow has a sore left hamstring, and Iverson, who suffered a deep thigh bruise in the March 19 game against the Los Angeles Lakers, was not scheduled to play in Saturday night's game in Atlanta. His status would be determined day by day, team officials said.

The 76ers also added center Rick Mahorn to the injured list Saturday for a hurt foot.
