Industry Moves Roundup: MarketShare Partners; Discovery; DoMedia; TVWeek/Beet.tv; Vibrant; PointRoll

*Discovery* Communications: Hasbro isn't the only new face around Animal Planet's parent company. Jody Jones is going to be the company's first SVP of digital programming, in charge of developing the company's online presence. Jones, who comes to Discovery (NSDQ: DISAB) directly from Scripps Networks Interactive (NYSE: SNI), will report to Kelly Day, EVP and COO of Digital Media and Commerce.

DoMedia: If a company like DoMedia is trying to sell brands to people while they walk around town, it just hired one impressive track record with Jeff Bell (pictured, right). The ex-Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) corporate VP of global marketing of interactive entertainment is the new chairman, bringing with him the experience of successful outdoor campaigns for Jeep and the Xbox game, Gears of War.

TVWeek/Beet.tv: As the Crain Communications industry trade pub closes up as a print operation to go web-only, online video maven Daisy Whitney has joined broadband media news site Beet.tv as senior producer. No word on whether any jobs were lost at TVWeek as it makes the transfer to sole web publishing status next month.

MarketShare Partners :The analytics firm added to their roll call when they brought in Ivn Markman as EVP of Finance, Operations and Strategy. According to MSP, he'll be in charge of the financial integrity of the company, oversee day-to-day operations and lead business strategy. He comes from Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO), where he had been the head of corporate strategy until May.

Vibrant: Bob Hammond is now the former VP of engineering for the Video Syndication Platforms Group at Yahoo, as he jumps to the contextual advertiser to become the senior vice president for technology. His teams will span the globe, as they will be located in the US, London, Germany and France. Meanwhile, another Yahooengineer Brian Actonwill join Vibrant's Advisory Board as the company amps up their work. Acton was chief architect of Project Panama, and leader of the Advertiser and Publisher Applications Group.

Pointroll: The Gannet company has been busy, filling three positions by hiring Catherine Spurway as their VP of Strategy & Marketing; Chris Baughman is now the AVP of Creative Strategy; and Elaine Ybarra is now the company's marketing manager. Both Spurway and Baughman had already been with the company, while Ybarra jumps ship from Yahoo, where she was the front page ad solutions manager.
