Indiana couple accused of having sex in public pool surrender to police
(CBS/WHIO/AP) CONNERSVILLE, Ind. - An Indiana couple who authorities say were caught having sex in a busy public pool turned themselves in to Connersville police Monday.
Myron Helms, 33, and Victoria Cross, 40, were charged with public indecency and have bonded out of jail, reports CBS affiliate WHIO.
Connersville police say officers were called to the Roberts Park Family Aquatic Center last week, where witnesses said the couple had been having sex for about a half hour before patrons complained to the pool manager.
The manager told officers that when she told them to stop and they moved away from each other she could see the man's penis.
Deputy Police Chief Dennis Perkins tells the Connersville News-Examiner that the couple was initially given trespass warnings on Sunday and not arrested because officers didn't see what happened.
Both face up to a year in jail if convicted of the misdemeanor charges, according to WHIO.
Helms is on unpaid leave from his position as a reserve police officer in Laurel, Ind.
