Senators negotiating an overhaul of immigration laws should be forced to wear mood rings. It would be so much easier to judge the progress of their closed-door, tight-lipped, high-level talks.
Reporting on the negotiations often boils down to a session of armchair psychology: “Senator, how do you really feel about the chances of reaching an agreement?”
So as Monday passed with no bipartisan talks, the questioning began anew.
