JOLIET, Ill.-- An apartment laundry room became a murder scene Wednesday in Joliet, Ill, reports CBS Chicago.
Police say 20-year-old Jocelyn Woods was found dead inside the laundry room early Wednesday morning, reportedly stabbed several times. Her was body apparently discovered by a resident of the building.
Police captured murder suspect Drumaine McKinley hours later, allegedly hiding in bushes near his home.
People who live in the apartment building say neither he nor Wood live there, but they speculate that the victim and suspect may have gotten in through an open back door.
"It is very scary to be in a building where someone was actually murdered," said Damaria Bates, a resident of the building.
The Illinois Department of Corrections currently lists McKinley as being on parole. He also has an extensive criminal history.
An autopsy on Woods' body will be performed Thursday. At this point, it is unclear how or if Woods and her alleged killer knew each other.
