I Hate Craig Biggio

Yes, there are serious problems in the world - the ongoing disaster in Iraq, Iran's nuclear program, Darfur, poverty, racism, global warming - but I want to riff for a moment on Craig Biggio, longtime second baseman for the Houston Astros.

Last Wednesday, several House members, led by Rep. Kevin Brady (R-Texas) introduced a resolution (H.Res. 501) honoring Biggio for smacking his 3,000 hit as a big leaguer. Which would be nice, if Biggio had actually done it. But he has not. Which means Brady & Co. have now placed the BIGGEST HEX IN SPORTS HISTORY on Biggio. God help these guys if Biggio gets to 2,999 and is then kidnapped by space aliens or something.
