"Hurt Locker" Vs. Sci-Fi Goliath "Avatar"

The first time a science-fiction blockbuster was nominated for best picture at the Academy Awards, Woody Allen beat up on it, his small comic drama "Annie Hall" winning over "Star Wars." Now sci-fi sensation "Avatar" is neck-and-neck for best picture with "The Hurt Locker," one of the lowest-grossing films ever nominated.
