Human remains found in missing man's NYC backyard, police say
(CBS) NEW YORK - A body was found in missing man's Queens, New York backyard Tuesday, CBS affiliate WCBS reports.
According to the station, the body was found outside the home of Frank Soucie, a retired postal worker who was last seen on April 22. His live-in girlfriend had reported him missing.
A witness told WCBS he saw "human body parts." Officials said they responded to a call from a neighbor who reported seeing a man dumping a large bag in the trash.
Authorities told 1010WINS that when searching the house they found gloves, ammonia, a burned sleeping bag, a laundry cord and fresh dirt.
Outside the home, police uncovered what appeared to be a shallow grave. They found the human remains of what appeared to be a middle-aged-male. The body has not been identified, reports WCBS.
The 60-year-old missing man is a widower and a father of two.
The New York City Medical Examiner's Office is working on an autopsy to determine the cause of death, according to WCBS.
