Hoyer: 'Joe The Worker' Suffering Because Of McCain

Taking a page from the McCain-Palin playbook, Steny Hoyer is trotting out his own Joe to tweak Republicans on the economy.

“Joe the worker is suffering because the Bush-McCain economic policies, which were not focused on what’s good for Main Street, have been proven decisive failures,” Hoyer said in a statement.

Democratic leaders seized on sluggish new GDP numbers Thursday, as they prepare to introduce another economic stimulus bill when Congress returns next month.

“With American families suffering, workers losing their jobs and businesses contracting their production, we must work together on a fiscally responsible plan that will boost the economy and restore consumer confidence,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said in a statement.
