How to Turn Binder Clips into an iPhone Dock

Apple's iPhone dock, which gives your handset a desktop throne on which to rest and recharge, costs a rather steep $49. The homemade iPhone Binder Clip Dock, on the other hand, costs, well, the price of a dozen or so binder clips. (What is that, maybe two bucks and change?)

The above video, which is best viewed with the sound off (unless you're into obnoxious techno soundtracks), shows you how to build an ugly but functional dock using those ubiquitous clips. To me this isn't quite as exciting as the paper-clip iPhone stand of the other day, but I am indeed going to build one because I'm tired of my iPod touch cable flopping around on my desk.

Yeah, I know, it's a lot of DIY iPhone stuff for one week. I'll impose a moratorium if enough commenters tell me I should. [via Lifehacker (blame them)]
