How to Snag a Cab with Your Cell Phone

Ever notice how there's never a taxi around when you need one? CellWand Communications did, and came up with a solution to the problem: Punch #TAXI (a.k.a. #8294) on your cell phone keypad and hit Send to connect to the cab company of your choice or request the first available.

Cool, no? For the moment, the service is available only to Alltel, AT&T, Boost Mobile, and Verizon customers (in the U.S., anyway -- many more carriers are on board in Canada).
