How to Simply Sort Out Your Kids' Room

The kids' room is usually the biggest disaster area in the home. With all manner of activity going on in there - sleeping, studying, playing with toys, hanging out with friends - it's easy to see how things can get out of control, and fast.

The final makeover in "The Early Show" series "Early Gets Organized" in partnership with Real Simple magazine was to tackle sorting out a kid's room.

Design expert Kate Parker, contributor to Real Simple magazine, helped clear the clutter for two boys who really struggled with getting rid of anything.

Real Simple magazine's tips on kids' room organization.

Parker got a handle on this room by encouraging the boys to donate their unused toys and games to a local charity, and then re-organizing the set-up of the room into distinct "zones" - sleeping (bunk beds), homework/desk area, reading nook, activity center, storage closet, and a large cubby unit for books and display.
