How to Make Your Dropbox Account Available to Clients and Co-Workers

Dropbox is like your own personal piece of cloud real-estate, a place for storing, sharing, and remotely accessing your files.

Okay, but what if you want to receive files from others, like clients and co-workers? As you may recall, Dave offered one option in the form of DROPitTOme, which lets others upload files to your Dropbox account.

Ah, but that solution requires you to give out a link and a password. If you want something that requires a little less effort on both sides, try JotForm's Dropbox Forms. It gives you the tools to create a simple Web-based form that others can use to upload files directly to your Dropbox account.

Check out the quick video overview, then meet me below for a quick Rick-review.

JotForm's Dropbox tool is admirably easy to set up and use. In about the time it took to write this paragraph, I'd given JotForm the necessary access to my Dropbox account, signed up for a free JotForm account, and created a simple upload form to embed on my site.

The default form works well enough, but you can trick it out with text fields, radio buttons, checkboxes, and other data-collecting stuff -- great if you need to collect, well, data along with whatever files you're receiving.

I'd say this is a terrific option for anyone who uses Dropbox for file management and wants a simple way to allow others to add their files to the mix. [via Lifehacker]
