How to Get Into Harvard

Do you dream of your teenager attending Harvard University?

For the next few days, you've got a rare chance to hear directly from the admission dean at Harvard University about what it takes to get into this Ivy League institution that rejects 92 out of every 100 hopeful applicants.

William R. Fitzsimmons, who has served as the dean of admissions and financial aid at Harvard for more than 20 years, will be answering questions for six days at The New York Times' college blog.

If you've got a question, get in line. In just one day, parents and teens have sent in more than 800 questions and the emails keep coming.

As I mentioned in a earlier post, Is Harvard Going Broke, the university is experiencing its worst financial crisis in its history, but Harvard worshippers don't seem to know this or care. I can't think of another American institution whose name brand enjoys a more stellar reputation -- deserved or not.
