How to Fix 'Broken' Meetings
Meetings suck. I know that, you know that, and even your boss probably knows that. But why do they suck, and what can you do about it?
According to famed productivity writer/speaker Merlin Mann, the problem with meetings is that they're broken, and they're broken because no one "parents" them properly.
In this 45-minute video (you need something to watch during lunch, right?), Mann starts out with some inane and annoying blather (don't call your audience "nerds," dude, even if they do work at Twitter) before diving into some interesting and useful deconstruction of the whole meeting thing. I think Mann goes on about twice as long as he needs to, and I don't think he's a particularly great speaker -- but his slides are good and there's some sound information to take away from this.
