Now it's the province of the C-suite and the board of directors, says Michael Schrage, a research fellow at MIT Sloan School's Center for Digital Business and author of "Serious Play." Real innovation won't ever come from top-down initiatives, he argues. Instead, it will emerge from the rank and file -- provided that you give them right tools and techniques to succeed.
