House Passes War-funding Bill For Iraq
The House approved money to fund the war in Iraq Thursday with a majority of Democrats voting against the bill because it does not include withdrawal timelines for U.S. troops.
Lawmakers approved the second piece of an emergency funding package, 280-142, with 140 Democrats voting against the bill, including Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).
The Senate is expected to take up the package later tonight and send a bill to the White House for President Bush's signature.
