House Passes 1st Half Of Supplemental

The House approved money for the Department of Defense, agricultural assistance, the base realignment commission and Gulf Coast recovery on Thursday, 348-73, as the first part of an emergency funding package that also includes an increase in the minimum wage.

A majority of Republicans voted for the package despite repeated critiques of non-military, non-emergency spending in the bill.
