House Casts 1000th Vote

The House had its 1,000th roll call vote of the year Wednesday, approving the Native Hawaiian Government Reorganization Act by a vote of 261-153 as the last vote of the day.

The Democratic-controlled House broke the record for votes in a year on Oct. 9, after holding the 943rd roll call vote.

While Democrats touted that small achievement earlier this month, Republicans were quick to dismiss the initial record as evidence the current majority has kept members busy without many legislative accomplishments to show for it.
