Hillary Clinton's Livin' La Vida Loca, Picks Up Ricky Martin Endorsement

From CBS News' Fernando Suarez:

MADISON, S.D. -- Puerto Rican pop star Ricky Martin endorsed Hillary Clinton this afternoon, just days before the U.S. territory prepares to vote. Martin, who became famous in the mid-90s for his song "Livin' La Vida Loca," said in a written statement released by the campaign that Clinton "has always been consistent in her commitment with the needs of the Latino community."

Martin isn't the first celeb to endorse Clinton. He joins a long list of Hollywood stars, singers, and actors, including Madonna, Elizabeth Taylor, Eva Longoria, Jack Nicholson, America Ferrera, Barbra Streisand, Elton John, Michael Douglas, Robert Kennedy Jr., Quincy Jones and Magic Johnson.

"I am honored to have Ricky Martin's support," Clinton said in a written statement. "He is a very important voice in the Latino community and together we will work to improve the lives of families and children across the country."

Although it is unclear if Martin's endorsement will give Clinton a big boost in Puerto Rico, she is expected to win by double-digits on the island.
