Selling Girl Scout cookies isn't always easy, but it is especially tough when you have to go through the Secret Service to do it.

Still, when 11-year-old Katherine Bierce heard that first lady Hillary Clinton was at the public library in Chappaqua, she wasted no time trying to make a sale. That is, after getting clearance from Clinton's Secret Service agents first.

Katherine is an active Girl Scout who lives in Chappaqua near the first lady. She was at the library on Monday at the same time when the first lady was getting her library card. Katherine asked the agents if she could try to sell some cookies to Clinton. The Secret Service asked her to wait a moment, then gave her the go-ahead. Clinton immediately said, "I'd love to." She, too, was a Girl Scout once.

For the record, Clinton bought one box each of Thin Mints, Do-Si-Dos, and Trefoils. That brought the first lady/senate candidate's Girl Scout cookie purchase to nine dollars.

In an interview Wednesday morning on the CBS News Early Show, Katherine discussed her encounter with Clinton with co-anchor Jane Clayson. When asked what her friends thought about her recent sale to her A-list client, Katherine responded, "they think it's really cool."

Even though as first lady Clinton may get certain preferential treatments, when it comes to Girl Scout cookies she has to first place her order and then wait for the cookies to be delivered at a later date, just like everyone else. When Katherine showed Clayson her order form it was not that much of a surprise to see that in the phone number column it read, "NA", for "not available."

Therefore, Katherine plans to personally deliver Clinton's three boxes of cookies to the New York White House some time next month.

Secret Service willing, of course.
