HERB WEISBAUM Consumer Correspondent, This Morning Herb Weisbaum was named a Consumer Correspondent for CBS This Morning in April 1995. He is based in Seattle, Wash. Weisbaum came to CBS News from KIRO-TV, the former CBS affiliate in Seattle, where he served as a consumer reporter since 1981. Weisbaum has served as a Contributing Consumer Correspondent to CBS This Morning since 1991. For four years, Weisbaum has presented the popular "CBS This Morning Toy Test," an annual look at the best new toys for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and school-age children. Each year the test is met with an overwhelmingly positive response from viewers. Weisbaum has won numerous awards, including five Emmys. In June 1994 he was awarded the prestigious Consumer Federation of America's, "Betty Furness Consumer Media Service Award." His reporting has also been honored by the Society of Professional Journalists, the Associated Press and The Columbia Journalism Review. Weisbaum was graduated magna cum laude from Syracuse University in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Television/Radio and a Bachelor of Science degree in Advertising.
