Henry Cavill teases new Superman costume for "Justice League"

It looks like Superman will be coming back from the dead -- and with a new, darker look -- in the upcoming "Justice League" film.

"Man of Steel" star Henry Cavill teased fans with a glimpse of what could be a new super suit for Superman in director Zack Snyder's next installment in the DC Comics movie universe.

Cavill posted a photo to Instagram showing a detail of his Superman costume that appeared to be an all-black version of the suit -- similar to what Russell Crowe wore as Superman's dad in "Man of Steel." Cryptically, Cavill just captioned the image, "#Superman."

Cavill's famous character appeared to die at the end of "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice," but the final shot of the film made it clear he wouldn't be staying buried for long.

Cavill's post seemed to confirm that his character would be coming back sooner rather than later -- and in a new, darker suit. Of course, as some fans pointed out in the comments, it could just be an Instagram photo posted with a black-and-white filter over it.

"Justice League" doesn't hit theaters until November 2017, so fans will have to wait a bit to find out.
