Hello, George!

CBS This Morning Co-Anchor Jane Robelot has given birth to her first child. George Robelot De Carvalho was born one month premature at New York University Medical Center on Sunday and weighed 6 pounds, 14 ounces.

Robelot and her husband, Mario De Carvalho, a CBS News cameraman, had gone out for a special dinner the night before, prepared by chef Mina Newman of Layla, a New York City restaurant. Newman and De Carvalho had become friendly while shooting a "Chef on a Shoestring" segment for CBS News Saturday Morning, broadcast earlier that day.

A happy family. (CBS)
It was during the appetizer that Robelot signaled her husband that it was time to get to the hospital. George was born at 12:32 p.m. EST on Sunday.

Both baby and mother are doing very well. "It must have been the eggplant that I ate," laughs Robelot. "I still can't believe he's here. Mario and I thank God that George is a healthy baby, and we're very excited to take our son home. George's half-sisters, Sara (age 17) and Rita De Carvalho (age 14), of Miami, are thrilled and now they have a little brother to pick on."

Robelot's cameraman husband reportedly filmed their son's birth.
