'Hawks' RB Charges Dropped

Charges that Seattle Seahawks running back Ahman Green assaulted his former girlfriend have been dismissed after the woman told prosecutors she would not return for his trial.

Kirkland Municipal Court Judge Mariane Spearman dismissed the charges Monday with prejudice, meaning Green cannot be charged again later.

Green was arrested in March and charged with fourth-degree domestic-violence assault after an argument with Shalynn Vance, his girlfriend at the time, at their Kirkland apartment. Vance told police Green had pushed a door into her face, chipping a tooth and causing a bloody lip.

But Vance moved to Florida and recently told prosecutors she would not return for Green's trial, Green's attorney, David Allen, said.

Green rushed for 209 yards and one touchdown on 35 carries last season, his rookie year.
