Gwyneth Paltrow Gets Personal
(CBS) She acts, she sings, she dances. Is there anything Gwyneth Paltrow can't do?
In the February issue of "Good Housekeeping," the star discussed her charmed professional life, but also got more personal about her marriage and experience with postpartum depression.
Paltrow says Chris Martin, lead singer of Coldplay, is a great husband who is dependable and makes her feel special. "He makes me laugh. He's really appreciative of me," she told the magazine. The couple have two children, Apple, 6, and Moses, 4.
"I definitely have to coax things out of him when we talk," the 38-year-old actress said. "He's British, so it's a different lexicon totally."
But despite the occasional hurdle in conversations, Paltrow says marriages thrive on communication. "You have to communicate. Otherwise, there's no relationship."
Things weren't always peachy for Paltrow. After her second child, Moses, was born in 2006, she suffered from postpartum depression.
"I felt like a zombie. I couldn't access my heart," she said. "It was terrible...I just thought it meant I was a terrible mother and a terrible person."
She moved past the feelings after time, and now makes lunches and wipes away tears effortlessly for her two children.
And in the past few months, Paltrow has made some big moves in her film, TV, and music careers. She has appearied in an episode of "Glee" and is starring in the film "Country Song." She also will be hosting "Saturday Night Live" on Jan. 15, and might even perform with musical guest Cee Lo.
After all, she she did sing his hit song "Forget You" on "Glee" this season.
