Police spokesman Detective William Moreno said three of the wounded are in critical condition.
Authorities said the men were wearing all black and opened fire with automatic weapons around 12:45 a.m. One AK-47 and two pistols were found. It's unclear if the shooting happened in the home or outside during what officials described as a block party.
Two or three shooters may have been involved.
Chaos ensued as people ran for cover. Twelve people were struck by bullets.
One woman who was trying to escape the gunfire was hit by a car.
"The shooting was non-stop," one person who did not wish to be identified told CBS Station WFOR correspondent Marybel Rodriguez. "We heard fireworks and then multiple gunshots. I was just running and then laying on the ground, I was just waiting for everything to clear."
Miami Fire-Rescue said initially there were so many victims that there were not enough ambulances to take them to the hospital.
Police say they don't know who the identity or motives of the shooters.
Anyone with information is ask to call Miami-Dade Crimestoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
