Gretzky Added To All-Star Team
Wayne Gretzky will be making his 18th all-star game appearance Jan. 24 in Tampa.
The Great One, who played in his first all-star game in 1979-80, was among several stars added to the North American squad Tuesday.
Goaltender Ed Belfour, center Mike Modano and defenseman Darryl Sydor -- all from first-place Dallas -- were also added.
Right-winger Mark Reechi of Montreal, right-winger Theoren Fleury of Calgary and goaltender Curtis Joseph of Toronto were the only players chosen from Canadian-based teams.

Other forwards added to the North American side that will oppose the World Team are Eric Lindros and John LeClair of Philadelphia, Jeremy Roenick and Keith Tkachuk of Phoenix, Keith Primeau of Carolina, Tony Amonte of Chicago and Wendel Clark of Tampa Bay.
Also named on defense were Rob Blake of Los Angeles, Larry Murphy of Detroit, Chris Pronger of St. Louis and Scott Stevens of New Jersey.
The starting lineup, as voted by fans, was announced last week with Martin Brodeur of New Jersey in goal, Ray Bourque of Boston and Al MacInnis of St. Louis on defense and Steve Yzerman centering Detroit teammate Brendan Shanahan and Anaheim winger Paul Kariya.
