"Great Pumpkin" back where it belongs...on 9-year-old's porch

Wikipedia

(CBS/AP) YORK, Pa. - Ever since 9-year-old Jaiden Newcomer of York, Pa. won a 255-pound pumpkin at a local Octoberfest he had proudly displayed it on his family's porch.

Until his prized possession disappeared.

Giant squash, stolen.

But the York Dispatch reports the pumpkin was back on the family's porch Sunday evening after it returned from a weekend trip.

The paper says the big ol' pumpkin - which Jaiden won by correctly guessing its weight - was accompanied by a note of apology apparently from the thief.

The note read: "I'm really sorry about taking your pumpkin, it was wrong of me, you earned the pumpkin, I didn't think my actions through nor realize who they were affecting. Sincerest apologies."

Jaiden's mom, Amy Newcomer, says her son is "very excited. He's beside himself."

One more thing - when was the last time an apology note included the word "nor"?
