Grasshopper's David Hauser: 'I Couldn't Do My Job Without...'

Ever wonder what apps and gear busy entrepreneurs use to boost their productivity, stay organized, and maintain their sanity? In our ongoing series, we ask company CEOs, founders, and other influential business folks to reveal their tech essentials.

The Entrepreneur: David Hauser.

The Business: Grasshopper, which provides a virtual phone system that helps entrepreneurs start and grow their businesses. The system gives you a toll-free or local number, a professional greeting, and unlimited extensions/voicemail boxes.

The Tech Tool That Makes His Life Easier: "Microsoft Outlook. Of course I use Outlook for e-mail, and e-mail is an important part of what I do every day -- but the calendar is even more important. Without my Outlook calendar I would never be anywhere I am supposed to be -- and not just at work, but at home, dinners, weekend trips, anything.

"It's never easy to manage a busy day or hectic life, but without scheduling it would never happen. I recently switched everything over to Mac, and I could do this only because Outlook 2011 came out and had all the tools I needed."

The Specs: Outlook is part of the Microsoft Office 2010 suite for Windows and Office 2011 for Mac. Prices start at $279.99 for the Home and Business edition.

If you're a CEO, founder, or all-around Important Person, I'd like to hear how you'd fill in this blank: "I couldn't do my job without _____." Ping me at bizhacks@gmail.com.
