Did China get more than satellites from the U.S. space company Loral?

On Sunday, Republicans heaped blame on President Clinton, saying his administration's export policy with respect to satellites has, in fact, elevated risk to national security.

Loral's CEO Bernard Schwartz was the biggest single contributor to the Democrats last year, but he insists he hasn't tried to buy White House approval of his Chinese deals. "I have never once raised any issue that would be favorable to us, and I have never sought nor gotten favor," Schwartz said.
