Goodling Says Conversation With Gonzales Made Her 'uncomfortable'

Monica Goodling just testified that she and Attorney General Alberto Gonzales had an "uncomfortable" conversation prior to her departure from the Justice Department in late March.

Goodling said she was distraught following attempts, which began in mid-February with Deputy Attorney Paul McNulty's comments to the Senate Judiciary Committee, and went into Gonzales' office to ask him for a transfer to another job at Justice. Gonzales began to speak to her about his recollections on his role in the U.S. attorney firings, which Goodling told the committee made her "uncomfortable."
