Get Cheap (or Free) Wi-Fi the Next Time You Fly
I flew across the country recently, and spent most of the flight doing offline things with my laptop and iPad -- reading a book, playing games, working in Word. I could have logged onto the Internet, but I didn't, because I was too cheap to pay about $10 for a paltry 5 hours of Wi-Fi. At least the next time I go, I'll be better equipped to get cheap or free in-flight Internet access.
Unplgged recently discussed a handful of ways to get cheap or free in-flight Wi-Fi. Here's what you need to know the next time you fly the friendly, wireless skies:
Buy a package in advance. GoGo Inflight Internet, for example, sells package deals on their Web site, which you can use to save as much as 35%.
Search for coupon codes. Check out RetailMeNot for discount Wi-Fi coupon codes. You might also find better deals by Googling (or, dare I say, Binging).
Get a package deal. You might be able to get Wi-Fi bundled with some other aspect of your travel, like a rental car package or a long-term parking plan.
