Georgetown Drug Lab: Three Arrested for Dorm DMT Operation
WASHINGTON (CBS/AP/WTVR) Police have arrested three men suspected of creating a drug lab to produce the hallucinogen DMT in a freshman dorm at Georgetown University.
D.C. police spokesman Officer Hugh Carew told CBS affiliate WTVR that investigators found a DMT lab where chemicals could create the hallucinogenic drug.
DMT stands for dimethyltryptamine.
Emergency crews responded about 6:15 Saturday morning after a strange odor was reported, reports The Associated Press. About 400 students were evacuated from Harbin Hall. Seven people were exposed to noxious chemicals, including three students.
According to WTVR, officials say seven people were exposed to noxious chemicals, including three students. But Georgetown spokeswoman Julie Green Bataille says no one was injured and the rest of the campus is operating normally.
About 400 students also had to be evacuated.
Carew says two of the suspects are students and one was a visitor. Local and federal agents are investigating.
